SABEL´S WEAR PARTS EXCELLENT IN MILLS
– We use Sabelís wear resistant castings as lining in one of our rod mills and it works absolutely superbly. We crush quartzite down to a particle size of 0-7 mm in the mill. The final material is then used in its turn for lining furnaces for steel production. The quartz mass can stand up to the very high temperatures of about +3000 degrees C required for the process.
– The wear metal in the mill is subjected to extremely high forces from the quartzite and the wear material lined walls and roof are struck with full force by the 2.5 m long iron rods we put in the mill in order to make the milling easier.
– The wear plates, which are made of an Ni-Hard alloy, are normally able to crush between 80,000-100,000 tons of quartzite before they are worn out which usually takes about 2 years. We have tested other materials but Sabelís products have worked best. They are also superior from an assembly point of view which is most important as it is a tough job to change the 80 or so very heavy wear plates.
– Working with Sabel also gives other advantages. The company has a well functioning service organisation and is not unwilling to step into the breach quickly in a panic situation, which has happened.
