SABEL HCr

TECHNICAL PAPERS - SABEL HCr

Sabel HCr is a high-alloy white cast iron, with a high ratio of chromium carbides imbedded in, depending on the type of heat treatment, a matrix of austenite, martensite or pearlite. This alloy has an excellent combination of abrasion resistance and toughness.

APPLICATIONS

Typical areas of application are in the mining, steel, cement, forestry and power/heating industries. E.g. mill liners, liners for gyratory, cone, jaw-crushers, wear-plates, rollers, pipes, pump details, etc.

REINFORCEMENT

Armering används som extra förstärkning av gjutgodset. Om en spricka skulle uppstå håller armeringen ihop detaljen tills dess den är utsliten eller ett planerat byte kan ske.
Steel reinforcement: Product thickness T>50 mm
Plastic reinforcement: Product thickness T>50 mm

MACHINING

Processing is through grinding or turning/milling using ceramic tools. Where drilling and thread cutting is necessary, softer, more workable cast-in steel inserts are used

WELDING

Not recommended. Weld-joining HCr details to other surfaces is however possible by welding in an embedded block in a weldable material.

HARDNESS

HB 600-650.

HEAT TREATMENT

Heat treatment is done by hardening and tempering.

Sabel HCr is made in grades from A to G, and the composition varies.
Choice of grade depends on the area of application.
