TECHNICAL PAPERS - SABEL NI-HARD -1, -2
Ni-Hard has, for a long time, been the number one choice for industrial processes demanding a cost effective, wear resistant material. Its well proven abrasion resistance has seen it used in mining, steel, cement, pulp and power industries.
As mill liners, wear plates in crushers, rolls, pump parts, pipes the broad range of properties of Ni-Hard has made it one of the leading abrasion resistant materials in the world.
IN USE
SABEL NI-HARD 1
First hand choice, maximum hardness and abrasion resistance.
SABEL NI-HARD 2
Higher toughness, but lower hardness and abrasion resistance.
CHILLCASTING
In order to further enhance the abrasion resistance and mechanical properties, the wear side of the casting can be cast against a chill plate placed in the mould.
REINFORCEMENT
Is used in "high impact" applications, where dynamic stresses are expected. If a crack should appear in the casting the reinforcement will hold the pieces together until it´s worn out, or a planned change of parts can be made.
MACHINING
Can be machined by grinding and with the use of sintered carbide tools in lathes and mills. When drilling and threads are necessary, cast-in steel inserts should be used.
WELDING
Not recommended. Weld assemblies between Ni-Hard and other parts can be made by welding onto cast-in steel inserts.
