CRUSHER PLATES WHICH CAN COPE WITH ENORMOUS FORCES
– We crush gneiss for road filling and quartzite for asphalt. The Swedish National Road Administration is one of our largest customers.
– For this job we use a jaw crusher in which one of the walls is clad with crusher plates from Sabel. There are enormous forces at play when the blast rock is ground down to fractions with sizes from zero to 200 mm.
– It is important that the crusher plates have a good wearing quality. They must also keep their shape until they are fully worn out and the plates from Sabel do just that. Earlier we used plates of manganese steel but their durability was not anything like that of these Sabel plates.
– On average a crusher plate lasts about six months, the wear depending upon the material we are crushing most. Quartzite wears the plates faster than gneiss.
– Crusher plates from Sabel are maybe a little more expensive than those from their competitors but it is worth the investment as they last longer. Changing plates is a heavy and time consuming job which we want to do as seldom as possible.
