PRODUCTION AND QUALITY CONTROL

All casting is done in sand moulds. First a pattern is made of the object which is to be cast. Then the mould material (sand, binder etc.) is filled in around the pattern and finally the molten iron is poured into the mould. When the melt has solidified, the casting is ripped, cleaned and heat treated.

Melting and alloying is done in two induction furnaces, each of 1,5 tons. They are specially equipped for variable frequency making it possible to melt both steel and cast iron.

Moulding is done at one moulding line and two stations, all using furan as binder. All moulding production is done manually but using modern facilities.

Quality control is made on each melt, the content is analysed in a spectrograph and a computer calculates any corrective measures which may be needed. Hardness tests are conducted on the finished products both with stationary and portable testing equipment. In this way it is possible to conduct tests on all parts and surfaces of the materials.
